At Walt Disney World Resort, Downtown Disney is in the process of being transformed into Disney Springs. This construction project will double the number of shops, restaurants and other venues from 70 to more than 150. With the completion date planned for 2016, Disney Springs will open in phases. You must check out the just recently opened Jock Lindey’s Hangar Bar. Located on the waterfront between Paradiso 37 and The BOATHOUSE, this cozy lounge features light bites and drinks inspired by Jock’s globe-trotting, including a stint as the pilot for Indiana Jones in “Raiders of the Lost Art.”
The very successful movie, Avatar, has inspired a new land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. It will feature floating mountains, bioluminescent rainforests, after-dark entertainment and a Banshee flying attraction. Unfortunately, it won’t be ready for its debut until 2017.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been re-imagined to include studio villas and 2-bedroom, over-water bungalows. The bungalows are able to sleep up to 8 guests and include 2 full bathrooms. It’s about time…my family has 5 or more and it’s not easy to find a room that accommodates that many.
AT&T Phone and Data services will now be available for purchase on Disney Cruise Lines. You may purchase it directly from AT&T prior to your cruise or once you arrive on board. Check out the details before you go.
Disneyland Resort’s Diamond Celebration continues through Sep. 5 of 2016. After 60 years of making people happy, this celebration features the all-new “Paint the Night” parade, “Disneyland Forever” fireworks and “World of Color – Celebrate!” as well as special food and merchandise. Specially sparkling is the diamond-encrusted Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Make plans to see it before the party ends.
